Eagles on Washington's Skagit River with
NBC Today Show
The
largest concentration of bald eagles in the Lower 48 migrate to feed
on spawned-out chum salmon in Washington State's Skagit River during the winter
months, December to early March. During this time there are as
many as 400 eagles counted at the peak.
Though not nearly as many eagles as
the thousands on the Chilkat
River in Haines, Alaska in the late Fall, the Skagit River hosts thousands of
visitors every year to witness this annual gathering of the bald
eagles.

In
February (2003), a camera crew from the NBC Today Show program went rafting with Eco Orca
Limited owner,
Dave Button with his Washington company
Pacific NW Float Trips , to film a segment for the NBC Today Show which was featured
on air in March 2003.
